Retrospectives used at School of Applied Technology
Having a short check-in with your team every morning is a great way to both start the day and also to ensure micro-improvements as soon as possible.
Here at Salt we want each of the mobs to run a short retrospective each morning. We can keep this informal and chill, but we want to give the opportunity to improve our way of working too.
Before each lecture, at 08:30, we are requiring that the mobs meet and have a fika (it’s a Swedish bootcamp, so that’s kinda mandatory).
Also this will help us all to be on time for the 09:00 lecture :)
The retrospective itself is basically just us talking about two simple questions:
We are not looking to make any big changes, but rather just “Turn up the good” little by little. Every step is small and easy.
It’s very important to do these daily retrospectives and ensure that everyone can speak out. After a few weeks you might find that there’s is not much too talk about, please meet anyway. Just have a fika and get a good start. If there’s anything that you want to talk about, you now have a time and place to talk about improving later.
I have written some reflections on this practice on my own blog
